Human-Rights & Brexit

In the aftermath of Brexit, cross-border bodies will work together to make sure Human Rights are upheld in both the Republic and the North of Ireland. The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission, The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission (NIHRC) and the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland (ECNI) will work together to provide oversight of rights and equalities issues falling within the scope of the commitment to human rights, that has an ‘island of Ireland’ dimension. The UK government’s commitment to protecting equality and human rights in Northern Ireland after Brexit is a welcome development.
