A mother, on behalf of her son, took High Court action against the mandatory face mask regulation, as she claimed her son would have his migraines agitated by wearing a mask
during his Leaving Certificate exams.
No specific evidence on the sons migraine claims was brought forward, and the family GP carried out a risk assessment between the risk of a migraine against the risk of catching Covid 19. However, reports from the World Health Organisation and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control listing migraines as a side effect from prolonged mask wearing were presented.
The mother had failed to establish an arguable case, and the application was dismissed.
